Report: Bears LB Lance Briggs Out 4-6 Weeks

Pro Football TalkĀ first reported that Bears LB Lance Briggs will be out for 4-6 weeks due to a shoulder injury.

  • PFT adds that Briggs’ injury will not require surgery.

Briggs, 32, was injured during the second quarter during the team’s Week 7 loss to Washington.Ā  The injury occurred when Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was scrambling while Briggs was out of the frame.

The Bears defense has already dealt with some serious injuries, which has left their entire defense depleted. Chicago is already without guys like DT Henry Melton, Nate CollinsĀ and LB D.J. Williams,Ā so losing Briggs for any period of time is likely to have an even bigger impact on a short-handed defensive unit.
