Report: Bears WR Marquess Wilson Could Miss 12-14 Weeks

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that Bears WR Marquess Wilson‘s broken collarbone is expected to keep him sidelined until “at least midseason.

Pelissero’s source mentioned that Wilson’s broke his collarbone in three places. Wilson has already undergone surgery, but the expectation is that he will miss close to 12-14 weeks.

Chicago has already brought in veteran WR Santonio Holmes and parted ways with WR Eric Weems.

It seemed like the Holmes signing was just a stop-gap, but Pelissero mentions that Holmes may get a “long look” now that it appears Wilson will miss a significant portion of the season.

Wilson, 21, is a candidate for short-term injured reserve, but we’ll have to see what Chicago elects to do in the coming weeks.

Last year, Wilson appeared in nine games and caught two passes for 13 yards.
