Report: Eagles Would Want A 1st or 2nd Rd Pick In Return For QB Nick Foles

Update:

Rob Maaddi reports that an NFL source mentioned that the Eagles would want a first or second round pick “to even consider the idea” of trading QB Nick Foles.

Maaddi adds that Philadelphia hasn’t discussed the idea of trading Foles with any team to this point.

Update:

Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com reports that a league sources has informed him that the Philadelphia  Eagles have no plans to trade QB Nick Foles, “unless they’re blown away by an offer.”

Foles is expected to be given a shot at winning the team’s starting job during training camp.

This could be an attempt to increase the asking price for Foles seeing as previous reports have indicated that the Chiefs are believed to have interest in trading for him. It’s just hard to imagine Foles being a great fit in Chip Kelly’s offensive system, but I guess stranger things do happen.

Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports that “a person informed of the team’s thinking” informed him that the Chiefs are discussing the idea of adding a quarterback and specifically mentions Nick Foles as an option.

The Eagles re-signed Michael Vick earlier in the week and added Dennis Dixon this morning, but appear to still have interest in keeping Foles.

There’s been speculation that the Chiefs could trade for Foles as soon as Andy Reid signed on to be the team’s head coach and this report further suggests that it remains a possibility.

Garafolo adds that Chiefs will likely part ways with Matt Cassel, unless he’s willing to rework his current contract that is set to pay him $7.5 million next season.

It appears that we could have a better idea of how things will play out at the top of the draft in the next few weeks.
