Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com, citing two individuals with knowledge of the situation, reports that rookie Cody Parkey has beaten out former fourth-round pick Alex Henery for the Eagles’ kicking job.

Parkey, 22, came over in a trade with the Colts that sent RB David Fluellen to Indianapolis. He’s an undrafted free agent out of Auburn. During his four years at Auburn, Parkey converted 24 of 32 field goal attempts (75 percent) and scored a total of 140 points.

Henery, 27, converted 1 of 3 field goal attempts this preseason. Last year, Henery was successful on 82.1 percent of his field goal attempts and made one of two tries from at least 50 yards.

He’s entering the final year of his rookie contract and has a base salary of $645,000 for the upcoming season.
