Cowboys Second-Round Pick DeMarcus Lawrence Out 8-12 Weeks With Broken Foot

Update:

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys second-round pick DE DeMarcus Lawrence will be out 8-12 weeks with a broken right foot.

According to Moore, Lawrence was working against LT Tyron Smith in Tuesday’s practice when he found himself in an awkward position, which led to Smith slamming him to the turf.

This timeline could lead to Lawrence missing a good portion of the first half of the season.

Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting that the Cowboys fear that second-round pick DE DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a broken right foot during Tuesday’s practice.

If true, this would be another huge blow to the Cowboys’ defense as they have already lost ILB Sean Lee for the season with an ACL injury.

Reports from Cowboys practice mentioned that Lawrence was unable to apply pressure to his foot and he was set for to undergo an X-ray to determine the severity of the injury.

We’ll have updates regarding Lawrence as the news is available.
