Dolphins CB Xavien Howard Arrested For Domestic Battery

Cameron Wolfe of ESPN reports that Dolphins CB Xavien Howard was arrested for domestic battery last night in an alleged incident involving his fiancé.

According to Barry Jackson, the police report says Howard and his fiancé had an argument about the recent purchase of a purse that wasn’t disclosed and the altercation became physical when the defendant grabbed her arm and pushed her back up against a mirrored glass wall in the hallway of their bedroom.

Howard reportedly let her go, causing her to fall to the floor on her right arm, which landed on his crutches.

The Dolphins issued the following statement regarding Howard:

“We are aware of the situation and currently gathering information. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Miami placed Howard on injured reserve back in October with a knee injury.

Howard, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $6,128,038 and set to make a base salary of $1,285,641 for the 2019 season when he agreed to a five-year, $76.5 million extension that includes $46 million guaranteed with Miami this offseason.

In 2019, Howard appeared in five games for the Dolphins and recorded 17 tackles, one interception, and four pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Howard as the news is available.
