Report: Dolphins Expected To Target A RB In The Draft

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that, despite signing veteran RB Knowshon Moreno to a contract a few days ago, the Dolphins would like to draft another running back.

  • According to Salguero, the Dolphins would most likely target someone between the fourth-fifth rounds of the upcoming draft.
  • Salguero mentions that the Dolphins are looking for a guy who can make people miss or break tackles.

Towson RB Terrance West mentioned that Dolphins RB coach Jeff Nixonliked [him] a lot” during his draft diary for the Baltimore Sun.

The Dolphins running backs coach [Nixon] likes me a lot. He told me I was high on his board of college running backs,” West writes.

A recent report mentioned that former second-round pick Daniel Thomas and 2013 draft pick Mike Gillislee were likely going to compete for one roster spot now that they’ve added Moreno.

Lamar Miller should compete with Moreno for the carries next year, but there appears to be a chance that they will target a draft prospect for the second straight year.
