Report: Free Agent CB Brandon Flowers Unlikely To Visit With The Vikings

Ben Goessling of ESPN.com reports that free agent CB Brandon Flowers does not have plans to visit with the Vikings, despite the team’s interest in signing him.

Goessling adds that Minnesota checked in with Flowers’ representatives shortly after he was released, but at this point in time, “it’s hard to tell whether their interest in him has gotten past the point of due diligence.

According to Goessling, the Vikings may not view Flowers as an ideal fit for their defensive scheme.

Flowers is visiting with the Chargers and reports mentioned that he could remain in San Diego for the next few days.

Recent reports have mentioned that Flowers has received the “heaviest interest” from Chargers, Falcons and Vikings. The Patriots, Ravens and Steelers are reportedly among the group of teams monitoring Flowers as well.

Flowers, 28, is coming off of a down season, but reports have mentioned that he expressed a desire to leave Kansas City last season after he was forced to play in the slot. Flowers has already put together a number of quality seasons in the NFL and should have plenty to offer a new team in the coming years.

Last season, Flowers appeared in 13 games and totaled 68 tackles, one sack, an interceptions and seven pass defenses for the Chiefs.

We have Flowers listed as the No. 1 player in our recently updated Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
