Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars will hire Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey as their next head coach.
The Jaguars have hosted a number of offensive coordinators over the last week and half. It was believed to be down to Bengals OC Jay Gruden and Mularkey but Gruden removed his name from any head coaching positions this afternoon which probably helped the Jaguars decision.
Mularkey has his work cut out for him as he inherits one of the leagues worst offenses and a possibly damaged young quarterback in Blaine Gabbert. At least there’s plenty of opportunity for him to prove his worth.
