- Getlin adds that the two sides should have a deal in place in the next few days.
- Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported earlier in the day that the Jets were hosting Davis for a visit.
Davis, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bears back in 2008. Since then, Davis has played for the Browns, Seahawks, and Giants before signing on with the Lions as a free agent in October of last year.
In 2014, he was limited to appearing in just six games and did not record a single statistic. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 148 total snaps last season.
