Report: Jets Have Reached Out To CB Asante Samuel, But Are Unlikely To Sign Him

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets have reached out to CB Asante Samuel following the recent injuries to a few of their cornerbacks.

However, Mehta adds that the Jets are “unlikely” to sign Samuel to a contract.

Dee Milliner went down with an ankle injury and third-round pick Dexter McDougle suffered a torn ACL in recent days.

Samuel, 33, was cut loose by the Falcons back in early February and has found almost no interest from NFL teams. The Ravens were reportedly interested in him a few months ago, but nothing ever came of their interest.

Last season, he produced 30 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble over the course of 11 games.
