Kimberley A. Martin of Newsdayย reports that the Jets have re-signed veteranย G Willie Colon to a one-year deal worth theย veteran’s minimum.
Recent reports had said thatย Colon was unlikely to be back in New York next year, but it appears as though the Jets felt that the limited asking price was worth it in the end.
Colon, 31, appeared in all 16 games for the Jets in 2014, playing a total ofย 1,102. However,ย Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 66ย guardย out of 78ย qualifying players with a poor rating as aย run-blocker.
The good news is that PFF has him rated as an above average pass-protector, so this could be a decent depth move for the Jets at a reasonable price.
