Report: Jets Re-Sign G Willie Colon To A One-Year Deal

Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday reports that the Jets have re-signed veteran G Willie Colon to a one-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum.

Recent reports had said that Colon was unlikely to be back in New York next year, but it appears as though the Jets felt that the limited asking price was worth it in the end.

Colon, 31, appeared in all 16 games for the Jets in 2014, playing a total of 1,102. However, Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 66 guard out of 78 qualifying players with a poor rating as a run-blocker.

The good news is that PFF has him rated as an above average pass-protector, so this could be a decent depth move for the Jets at a reasonable price.
