Panthers Sign LT Nate Chandler To A Three-Year Extension

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers are signing LT Nate Chandler to a four-year contract extension.

  • Schefter adds that Carolina “really likes” Chandler a lot.

Reports out of Panthers OTAs mentioned that Chandler was splitting first-team reps Byron Bell are at left tackle, but this could be indication that they are prepared to move forward with Chandler as their starter as they enter training camp.

Chandler, 25, actually played tight end at UCLA, so he offers some athleticism that could really help him to be an effective left tackle.

Last year, he played 541 snaps, but was a pretty poor pass-blocker.
