Report: Raiders Work Out Pat White, Trent Edwards & David Carr

Ian Rapoport reports that the Oakland Raiders held a tryout for free agent QB’s Pat White, Trent Edwards and David Carr on Tuesday.

  • Rapoport adds that no quarterback was immediately signed.

The Raiders have begun their search for a backup to QB Terrelle Pryor, following the release of Matt Flynn on Monday. Oakland currently has two rookie quarterbacks on their roster in Matt McGloin and Tyler Wilson.

Of the players brought in for workouts, White probably makes the most sense given that he not only won a roster spot during training camp with the Redskins, but he also has a similar skill set to that of Pryor.

Edwards and Carr offer more experience, but it’s hard to say they will be able to contribute much if Pryor were to miss another game this season.

We’ll have more as the news is available regarding the Raiders and their backup quarterback position.
