———-
Adam Caplan of ESPN, citing a league source reports that Rams RB Zac Stacy plans to ask for his release or to be traded following the addition of Georgia RBย Todd Gurley.
There was at least some talk that the Rams could come away from the draft with Gurley, depending on what happened with some of the top offensive linemen like Brandon Scherrf.
It’s hard to say there would be a lot of interest in a guy who lost his starting job to a rookie last year, but there could be a team willing to part with a late-round selection for him.
Stacy, 24, has another two years remaining on hisย four-year, $2.337 million rookie contract, which includes base salaries of $585,000ย andย $675,000 coming his way.
In 2014,ย appeared in 13 games for the Rams and ran for 293 yards on 76 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with 18 receptions for 152 yards receiving and a touchdown.
