Jimmy Graham’s Foot Injury Not Believed To Be Serious

Update:

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Saints don’t believe TE Jimmy Graham’s foot injury is serious at this time.

The Saints will continue to monitor Graham’s foot throughout the week, but the fact that they’re on bye week suggests that he should be back in time to play in their Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

We’ll have more regarding Graham’s injury as the news becomes available.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed him that Saints TE Jimmy Graham is undergoing a Monday MRI on his foot.

Graham suffered the injury during the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. He was able to play through the injury, but was largely ineffective throughout the game.

The Saints could hardly afford to lose one of the best offensive weapons in the game. On the season, Graham has caught 37 passes for 593 yards and six touchdowns.

Graham, 26, is in the final year of his contract and will likely command a record salary this offseason. New Orleans could always place their franchise tag on Graham and delay an agreement on a long-term deal.

We have Graham listed as the No. 1 player in our Top 50 – 2014 Free Agents list.
