Clarence Hill, citingย multiple sources, is reporting that Seahawks DE Michael Bennett is seeking a trade to the Falconsย and a new contract.
- Hill mentions that the Seahawks could target free agent DE Greg Hardy as potential replacement toย Bennett.
The Falcons hired former Seahawks DC Dan Quinn and could really use a solid defensive end like Bennett.
Bennett, 29, signedย four-year, $32 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed with the Seahawks in March of last year. He still has another three years remaining on the agreement to go along with base salaries ofย $6 million (2015),ย $4 million (2016), andย $6 million (2017).
According toย OverTheCap.com, trading Bennett wouldย free up $2 millionย in cap space next year while also create $6 millionย in dead money.
In 2014, Bennett appeared in all 16 games and recorded 39 tackles, seven sacks, and a forced fumble.
