โWe are thrilled that the tenth edition of HARD KNOCKS will spotlight a team in a division that we have not featured previously on HBO,โ says Ken Hershman, president, HBO Sports. โItโs exciting to feature a team, a franchise and a city for the first time on HARD KNOCKS. We are grateful to Texans chairman Bob McNair, general manager Rick Smith, coach Bill OโBrien and the entire organization for agreeing to participate and look forward to what we expect to be one of the most compelling and interesting seasons in HARD KNOCKS history. The series has become a summertime destination for TV viewers, and we canโt wait for the premiere on August 11.โ

ESPN’s Tania Ganuli, citing multiple sources, reports that the Texans have officially been selected by HBO to appear on this season’s Hard Knocks.
- John McClain of the Houston Chronicle mentioned earlier in the day that he expected the Texans to be featured onย the show.
Last week, there was talk thatย Redskins and Billsย were alsoย considered to be “potential participants”ย for 2015ย season of Hard Knocks, but reports later downplayed their chances of being featured on the program.
For what it’s worth, there wereย nine teams that could have beenย forced to do the show including:ย Browns,ย Texans,ย Jaguars,ย Vikings,ย Giants,ย Rams,ย Buccaneers,ย Titans, andย Redskins.
The Texans have a quarterback competition between Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer that will be interesting, as well as some notable players such J.J. Watt and RB Arian Foster. On top of that, we’ll get a peak at how second-year HC Bill O’Brien runs the team.
