Report: Decision In Josh Gordon Appeal Hearing Could Come In 1-3 Weeks

Update:

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that sources expect a decision to be made regarding Josh Gordon‘s appeal hearing in one to three weeks.

Josh Gordon‘s appeal hearing resumed on Monday, but a resolution in the matter is not expected to come today, according to Nate Ulrich.

Gordon is, of course, facing a year-long suspension from the league for a positive drug test. Gordon and his attorney’s maintain that his positive test was triggered by second-hand smoke.

While this could actually be the case based on how low his test results were, no NFL player has ever won an appeal based on this defense.

Maurice Suh, the attorney known for helping helping Seahawks CB Richard Sherman win his suspension appeal in December of 2012, has been hired to oversee Gordon’s case, so there is a chance that he could have his suspension tossed out.

The Browns have maintained that they have no intention of releasing Gordon and are committed to helping him get the help he needs to turn things around.

Gordon is still only 23 years old, and incredibly talented.  Even if he were to receive a full year suspension, he would return to the league as a 24-year old, presumably with one less year of wear and tear.

Last year, Gordon caught 87 receptions for 1,646 yards receiving and and nine touchdowns over the course of 14 games.

Well have more regarding Gordon as the news is available.
