The NFL Network’s Albert Breer tweeted Monday morning that Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said the plan is for him resume practicing with the team in 11-on-11 drills this week in an effort to ready himself for Week 1.
RGIII was quoted sayingย “there’s no doubt I’m playing Week 1… that’s the way I feel about it.”
Since beginning the rehab on his torn ACL, Griffin has been cautious in the physicality of his practices. This resumption of full speed drills would confirm that he is well ahead of schedule.
For months now, RGIII has said it is his goal to play Week 1. Now it appears as if that might be a reality. The Redskins play the Eagles in the first game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader on September 9.
