Ricky Wagner Expected To “Blow The Lid” Off Right Tackle Market, Has Lots Of Interest

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Ravens free agent RT Ricky Wagner is expected to “blow the lid” off the right tackle market next week, due him having a ton of interest from prospective teams.

Technically, Lane Johnson of the Eagles is the highest-paid right tackle in the NFL at $11.252 million per year. However, the Eagles admitted that they agreed to pay him that much because they expect him to move to left tackle at some point.

After Johnson, Packers RT Bryan Bulaga is the highest-paid player at the position with his $6.75 million salary.

We’ve seen Wagner mentioned as an option for the Bears and Vikings in recent weeks, but reports have also said that the Ravens would like to retain. Although, it could be really tough for the Ravens to bring him back if he’s about to reset the right tackle market.

Wagner, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,304,560 rookie contract and is now in position to be one of the best available offensive tackles in this year’s free agent market.

In 2016, Wagner appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 18 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.

We have both players featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
