Ricky Williams Open To Playing For The Saints & Chargers

Update: Ricky Williams also appears to be willing to come out of retirement to play for the Saints as well as the Chargers, assuming that Bill Parcells takes the job in New Orleans.

If he does, I have to add New Orleans to the mix with San Diego,” Williams said, per Michael Gehlken. “The Big Tuna is one of my favorite people in the whole world, and I think if he did decide to do it, I think it’d be a huge benefit to the team, to the city, to everyone involved.

It makes you wonder what’s wrong with the Ravens. They were pretty close to making it to the Super Bowl last year.

Jon Madani reports that RB Ricky Williams has filed his retirement papers with the NFL, but he would consider coming out of retirement to play for his hometown San Diego Chargers.

The Ravens placed on Williams on the reserve/retired list earlier in the month, which means that he would still be under contract with them should he choose to come out of retirment.

Williams is obviously not the same player that he once was but the Chargers are in need of some help at the running back position following the loss of Mike Tolbert. It’s still hard to imagine this happening considering that the Ravens would have to release him before he could sign elsewhere.
