Redskins QB Robert Griffin III Expected Start vs. Eagles “Barring Any Setbacks”

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III practiced at full speed today and, barring any setbacks, will start against the Eagles on Sunday, per Reuben Frank.

Griffin is coming off of a sprained right knee, but has since recovered from his injury.

“I went full speed with the live reps,” said Griffin following Wednesday’s practice, per Rich Campbell.

According to Rich Campbell of the Washington Times, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III appeared to be moving well on his mildly sprained right knee during Wednesday morning’s practice.

“Griffin moved fine during the brief period of practice open to media,” writes Campbell. “He planted on his injured right leg and threw a variety of passes, as he did last week. He also practiced rolling out.”

Head coach Mike Shanahan is expected to give more details on Griffin’s participation later this afternoon when he meets with the media. RG3 hopes to play this Sunday against the Eagles, but that decision will ultimately come down to the team doctors as they held him out of last week’s win over the Browns. If Griffin can’t go, rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins would start in his place.
