Saints OLB Victor Butler Suffers Torn ACL

Larry Holder reports that Saints OLB Victor Butler suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday’s OTA session.

Butler reportedly “banged knees” with RB Mark Ingram and remained down until trainers helped him off the practice field.

Butler, 25, signed a two-year deal worth $3 million that included $1.5 million guaranteed back in March. Outside linebacker was an obvious area of need for the Saints, so Butler’s loss could force Martez Wilson into a starters role.

Butler figures to end up on the injured reserve list at some point in the near future.
