Saints Worked Out DB Grant Haley & DT Anthony Zettel

The New Orleans Saints brought in free agent DB Grant Haley and DT Anthony Zettel for tryouts on Thursday, according to Albert Breer.

Grant Haley

Haley, 24, signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State. He finished his two-year, $1.05 million deal and was set to be an exclusive rights free agent this offseason when the team re-signed him to a one-year extension.

However, Haley was among the Giants’ final roster cuts headed into the 2020 season.

In 2019, Haley appeared in 15 games for the Giants and recorded 43 total tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and no interceptions.

Zettel, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $2.463 million rookie contract when Detroit cut him loose at the start of the 2018 season.

The Browns quickly claimed him off waivers where he finished out the year. He was among Cleveland’s final roster cuts and was on and off of the Bengals’ roster last year.

He played out a one-year deal with the 49ers after they signed him to a contract in December. Zettel then signed with the Vikings this offseason but was among the teams final roster cuts heading into the season.

In 2019, Zettel appeared in five games for the Bengals and 49ers, recording six total tackles and no sacks.
