Saints Working Out Veteran WR Hakeem Nicks

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints are working out a group of receivers on Wednesday including WR Hakeem Nicks.

This is the second reported opportunity for Nicks after he tried out for the Bengals over a month ago. Unfortunately for Nicks, Cincinnati wound up going in a direction direction at receiver.

Evan Woodbery points out that the Saints previously showed interest in Nicks last year after he was released by the Titans, but they did not sign him to a contract.

Nicks, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2009. He spent five years in New York before he departed in 2014 and signed a one-year deal with the Colts.

After another limited free agent market, Nicks was forced to sign a one-year deal with the Titans, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts. The Giants later brought him back in November after they sustained some injuries at the position and he finish out the year in New York.

In 2015, Nicks appeared in six games for the Giants and totaled seven receptions for 54 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
