Saints WR Marques Colston Leaving The Big Easy?

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio writes that league sources have informed him that Saints WR Marques Colston intends to sign with the highest bidder rather than stay in New Orleans at a discounted price.

Colston is certainly the teams best “receiver” but the issues surrounding Drew Brees contract could force the team to use their franchise tag on him rather than on a player like Colston or Carl Nicks.

The emergence of Jimmy Graham should help the teams passing attack remain productive if the end up losing Colston. Robert Meachem is also set to become a free agent but he has a better shot of returning considering that his asking price should be much lower than Colston’s.
