Seahawks DL Quinton Jefferson Undergoing Surgery For Jones Fracture

Tom Pelissero reports that Seahawks DL Quinton Jefferson sustained a Jones fracture in his foot during their Divisional Round game against the Packers and is scheduled to undergo surgery.

Pelissero notes that Jefferson is expected to require eight weeks to recover and should be healthy prior to the start of free agency in March.

Jefferson, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was waived coming out of the 2018 preseason and later claimed off of waivers by the Rams.

The Rams cut Jefferson and signed him to their practice squad. The Seahawks wound later add Jefferson to their active roster and brought him on an exclusive rights contract before re-signing him as a restricted free agent back in April.

Jefferson is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.

In 2019, Jefferson appeared in 14 games for Seattle and recorded 26 total tackles, four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 28 overall interior defender out of 114 qualifying players.
