Seahawks Expected To Lose CB Byron Maxwell In Free Agency

According to Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report, the Seattle Seahawks are likely to lose CB Byron Maxwell in free agency.

  • Cole expects Maxwell to be a “very hot commodity” in free agency.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is in line to receive a massive contract extension, so there is a good chance that Maxwell will be playing for a new team at the start of the 2015 season.

Maxwell, 26, has played out his four-year, $2,153,452 rookie contract and will now be an unrestricted free agent this March.

In 2014, Maxwell recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and 12 pass defenses over the course of 13 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.

We have Maxwell listed as the No. 28 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
