Connor Hughes reports that the Seahawks have “strong interest” in Jets free agent TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins as a potential replacement for Jimmy Graham.
- Jason La Canfora mentioned the Seahawks and Falcons as two teams to watch for Seferian-Jenkins yesterday.
- According to Mike Garafolo, the Saints are also expected to have some interest in Seferian-Jenkins as well.
The Jets reportedly offered Seferian-Jenkins two-year, $8 million contract last year but he turned it down. Even so, reports have said that the Jets would still like to re-sign him if possible.
Seferian-Jenkins, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2014. The Buccaneers elected to move on from Seferian-Jenkins a few years ago after he was arrested for driving under the influence and he was later claimed off of waivers from the Jets.
Seferian-Jenkins played out the final year of his four-year, $5.254 million contract and is set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time this offseason.
In 2017, Seferian-Jenkins appeared in 13 games for the Jets and caught 50 passes for 357 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 tight end out of 71 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
