Seahawks Give S Tedric Thompson Permission To Seek Trade

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks have given S Tedric Thompson permission to seek a trade.

According to Rapoport, it likely would take a late-round pick to acquire Thompson from Seattle.

The Seahawks have depth at safety with Bradly McDougald and Quandre Diggs along with others at the position, so Thompson’s best shot at more playing time could very well be with another team.

Thompson, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2017. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.07 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $735,000 for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Thompson appeared in six games for the Seahawks and recorded 19 tackles, two interceptions and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 84 safety receiver out of 86 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Thompson as the news is available.
