Seahawks Hosted DTs Corey Liuget & Al Woods

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Seahawks brought in free agent DTs Corey Liuget and Al Woods for visits on Wednesday.

The Seahawks also met with veteran DT Allen Bailey, so they’re clearly surveying the available free agent options.

Liuget, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2011. He finished the fourth year of his six-year, $58.219 million contract that included $30.477 million guaranteed when the Chargers declined his option last month.

Liuget missed the first four games of the 2018 season, due to a suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. He landed on the injured reserve after sustained a right knee injury during Week 11.

In 2018, Liuget appeared in five games for the Chargers and recorded 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble for the Chargers.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.

Woods, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. However, he lasted just a few months in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the 2010 season.

Woods has played for a number of teams including the Steelers, Buccaneers, Seahawks and Titans before the Colts signed him to a one-year contract last year.

In 2018, Woods appeared in 14 games for the Colts and recorded 24 tackles, no sacks and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 97 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.
