Seahawks’ “Primary Model” Includes Keeping QB Matt Flynn

Seahawks general manager John Schneider mentioned that they may end up keeping quarterback Matt Flynn for another season, according to Paul Imig.

“We have a model that includes (keeping) Matt; our primary model,” said Schneider.

Flynn, 27, is due $5.25 million ($2 million guaranteed) in 2013. There have been rumors circulating for months that he would likely get traded at some point during the offseason, which is still a very plausible scenario.

Schneider’s comments seem to be more in line with insinuating that they’re desperate to move Flynn. Previous reports have indicated that they would like to add a quarterback with a similar skill set to Russell Wilson.

It’s hard to say what kind of market there will be for Flynn, even though there aren’t a lot of quality quarterback’s available. Only the Seahawks and Dolphins should interest in Flynn a few years ago, so it’s doubtful that the number of suitors has grown all that much.
