Seahawks Announce Signing Of Veteran DT Kevin Williams, Waive Keith Price & Kenneth Boatright

The Seahawks officially announced the signing of veteran DT Kevin Williams on Monday.

  • Seattle also announced that they waived QB Keith Price and DE Kenneth Boatright as well as the signing of rookie free agent RB Demitrius Bronson.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Seahawks have reached an agreement with veteran DT Kevin Williams on a one-year contract.

  • Werder adds that Williams’ contract is worth in excess of $2 million.

Williams, 34, had spent eleven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and was considered one of the best interior lineman in the league for a large potion of his career.

The PatriotsGiants and Vikings reportedly had varying levels of interest in Williams, but the Seahawks have done a great job of getting contributions from veteran defensive linemen in recent years.

In 2013, he totaled 28 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus rated Williams as the No. 27 interior defensive linemen in the league.

We had him listed as the No. 3 player in our recently updated Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
