Seahawks Release WR Mike Williams

The Seattle Seahawks have made the decision to part ways with WR Mike Williams according to the Seahawks.com.

Recent reports suggested that Williams could be on the chopping block, so the move isn’t exactly the most surprising turn of events. He was set to make a $3.4 million base salary to go along with a roster bonus of $250,000. Last year, he tallied only 236 yards in 12 games for the Seahawks, but is still only 28 years old, so there’s a chance he could catch on with a team in need of additional help at the receiver position.

Seattle will most likely look to Ben Obomanu and Deon Butler to handle larger roles in the team’s offense this season.
