Seahawks Sign K Ryan Longwell

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Seattle Seahawks signed K Ryan Longwell after he beat out three other kickers, including Neil Rackers.

Steven Hauschka suffered a calf injury during last weekend’s win over Washington, so this seems like a pretty clear indication that he’s unlikely to suit up against the Falcons.

Longwell hasn’t played at all this year, following his release from the Vikings. He’s been a very good kicker over the years, so it will be interesting to see if his signing has an impact during this weekend’s game.
