The Seattle Seahawks have signed second-round pick DTย Jarran Reed to a four-year contract on Thursday, according to his agency.

Reed, 22, was selected with the No. 49 overall pick last week and wound up lasting much longer than many anticipated. Reed was mentioned as a potential first-round pick, but the Seahawks managed to get him in round two, and should have a solid young defensive lineman to add to the middle of their defense.
According toย OverTheCap.com, Reedย receives aย four-year contract worth $4,889,636 to go along with a signing bonus of $1,756,100.
During his two years at Alabama, Reed recorded 111 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, two sacks, a fumble recovery and seven pass defenses.
