Seahawks Fear TE Will Dissly Is Out For Season With Torn Achilles

Update:

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Seahawks fear TE Will Dissly suffered a torn Achilles and is out for the season.

Dissly is still scheduled to undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but teams typically have a good idea of whether a player’s Achilles is torn from the initial tests.

Seahawks TE Will Dissly was helped off after suffering a non-contact Achilles injury during Sunday’s game against the Browns.

The Seahawks quickly ruled him out for this game, so this is clearly a pretty serious injury.

Should tests confirm that he has a ruptured Achilles, Dissly would miss the remainder of the season and be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

For what it’s worth, David Chao says Dissly’s season is over based on video of the injury.

Dissly, 23, was selected in the fourth round of this year’s draft by the Seahawks. He signed a four-year, $3,110,268 contract with the Seahawks and stands to make a base salary of $570,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Dissly has appeared in five games and caught 23 passes for 262 yards receiving and four touchdowns for the Seahawks.

We’ll have more regarding Dissly as the news is available.
