Singletary Out After The Season?

Even with the recent support from San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York, Mike Singletary could find himself out of a job even if he is able to get the team into the playoffs.

Yahoo! Sports Jason Cole is reporting that Singletary would have to do “some extraordinary things” in order to save his job. Cole goes on to mention that 49ers may have to win multiple playoff games to ensure that Singletary returns next season. The fact that York has decided to stick with Singletary may not be as much of a vote of confidence as initially thought, instead it could have more to do with lack of replacement options on the teams coaching staff.

Singletary’s remaining games could be his last opportunity to prove that he is worthy of a head coaching position in the NFL.
