Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Steelers are expected to release veteran S Mike Mitchell next week.
Mitchell posted a cryptic message on Twitter Friday.
It is what it is.

Mitchell has come up as a potential cap casualty for the Steelers this offseason, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
Mitchell, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2009. After four years in Oakland and a brief stint with the Panthers, Mitchell signed a five-year, $25 million contract with $5.75 million guaranteed with the Steelers back in 2014.
In 2017, Mitchell appeared in 13 games for the Steelers and recorded 53 tackles, no interceptions, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 62 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
