The Steelers announced Sunday they have placed WR James Washington and RB Jaylen Samuels on the COVID-19 list.

Pittsburgh also announced it has cut eight players, including:
- QB J.T. Barrett
- RB Ralph Webb
- WR Quadree Henderson
- OL Christian Montano
- LB Christian Kuntz
- LB Dewayne Hendrix
- S Tyree Kinnel
- DE Josiah Coatney
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Washington, 24, was selected in the second round by the Steelers out of Oklahoma State in 2018. He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $4,501,346 contract that included a $1,353,704 signing bonus.
In 2019, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and caught 44 passes for 735 yards and three touchdowns.
Samuels, 24, was selected in the fifth round out of North Carolina State by the Steelers in 2018. He signed a four-year, $2,718,064 contract that included a $258,064 signing bonus.
In 2019, Samuels appeared in 14 games for the Steelers and rushed 66 times for 175 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 47 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown and completed four of five passing attempts for 35 yards and an interception.
