Steelers RB James Conner Not Expected To Play This Week

According to Gerry Dulac, Steelers RB James Conner is expected to miss this week’s game against the Rams with a shoulder injury.

Conner initially suffered the injury two weeks ago against the Dolphins. He missed this past Sunday’s game against the Colts as well.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels will continue to start in Conner’s place.

Conner, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2017. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $3.09 million contract that included a $706,288 signing bonus and he stands to make base salaries of $645,000 and $745,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2019, Conner has appeared in seven games for the Steelers and rushed for 380 yards on 97 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 236 yards receiving and six total touchdowns.
