Steelers Release WR Devin Gardner From I.R. With Settlement

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially released WR Devin Gardner from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Gardner was waived/injured a few weeks ago, but later reverted to injured reserve after passing through waivers unclaimed.

Gardner, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Michigan and is making the tranistion from quarterback to receiver, but still managed to receive some guaranteed money as part of his rookie contract.

At Michigan, Gardner threw for 6,336 yards while completing 60.4 percent of his passes to go along with 44 touchdowns to go along with 32 interceptions.
