Steelers Sign First-Round OLB T.J. Watt, Wrap Up Draft Class

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they’ve have signed first-round OLB T.J. Watt to a four-year rookie contract on Wednesday.

With this signing, the Steelers have officially locked up their entire 2017 draft class.

Watt, 22, was selected with the No. 30 overall pick by the Steelers. According to OverTheCap.com, Watt will receive a four-year contract worth $9,258,810, which includes a signing bonus of $4,873,680. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

During his two-year college career at Wisconsin, Watt recorded 70 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one interception, four pass defenses, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, and scored one defensive touchdown in 22 games for the Badgers.
