Steelers Sign GM Kevin Colbert To One-Year Extension

The Steelers announced on Wednesday they have agreed to a one-year extension with GM Kevin Colbert

Colbert’s contract had been set to expire following the 2020 draft, but this new deal will keep him in Pittsburgh through at least 2021.

“I am happy to announce we have extended Kevin Colbert’s contract for an additional year,” Steelers president Art Rooney II said. “Kevin continues to play a key role in our success and his dedication to our personnel efforts is unparalleled. We are pleased he will lead those efforts for at least one more year.”

“It’s hard to quantify how fortunate I am to have been part of this organization for the last 20 years,” said Colbert. “I look forward to the challenge of getting our team back into playoff contention while never losing sight of our ultimate goal – winning a Super Bowl.”

Colbert’s long-term future with the team had been in some question, but this should answer those questions for the foreseeable future.

Colbert, 63, has spent the past 20 seasons as the team’s general manager and led them to a record of 205-113-2 (64.06%), which includes 12 playoff appearances, three trips to the Super Bowl and two championships.
