The Pittsburgh Steelers officially placed LB Jason Fanaika on waivers Wednesday.
Fanaika, 24, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Utah back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months in San Francisco before he was waived and later signed to the Raiders’ practice squad.
After a brief stint with the Redskins, Fanaika signed a future/reserve contract this past February.
During his college career, Fanaika recorded 105 tackles, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, one interception and a recovery.
