Steelers Working On Extension For Troy Polamalu

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to work on the a new contract for Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu.

Talks broke down a few weeks ago but Bouchette reports that Steelers president Art Rooneyhad a change of heart” and decided to give it another go.

Pittsburgh is trying to get a deal done before the start of the season likely because they wouldn’t be willing to carry negotiations on throughout the season.

Polamalu will be one of the top free agents if he hits the open market but the Steelers will have their franchise tag in case something isn’t worked out. We have him listed as the No. 9 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
