More Talk That Ravens Could Re-Sign RB Justin Forsett

Yesterday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN first reported that it would not be surprising to see the Ravens re-sign veteran RB Justin Forsettdespite the fact that they cut him loose before the 53-man roster deadline.

Both Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter have reported this morning that Forsett could very be back with the Ravens in the near future.

Schefter says that Baltimore is “sifting through” roster issues right now, which could mean they want to see how things go with players being claimed and their practice squad before bringing Forsett back.

Forsett, 30, was entering the second year of  a three-year, $9 million contract and set to earn a base salary of $3 million for 2016 when the Ravens cut him loose before today’s deadline.

In 2015, Forsett ran for 641 yards on 151 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 31 receptions for 153 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding a possible return to the Ravens for Forsett as the news is available.
