Tarvaris Jackson Currently Ahead Of Matt Flynn In Seattle’s QB Competition

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll mentioned that Tarvaris Jackson is currently ahead of newly signed Matt Flynn in the team’s quarterback competition.

Russell and Matt both have ground to make up because they’re learning new systems,” Carroll said, via the Tacoma News Tribune. “And they both are doing exceedingly well at that, but they have more ground to make up.

T-Jack (Jackson) has more familiarity after all the years he was with Bev (Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who coached Jackson while both were in Minnesota).

While this may be the case at this particular point in time, it’s hard to imagine the Seahawks starting anyone other than Flynn, unless Jackson outplays him by a wide margin. After all, Seattle guaranteed Flynn $10 million to sign with them.
